KSRC at international youth education forum «Arctic. Made in Russia»

4 march 2016

The purpose of ARCTIC. MADE IN RUSSIA forum organized by Russian Federal Youth Agency (Rosmolodezh) is to help young scientists and engineers seeking to take part in Arctic developments in building up expert and scientific communities intended to overcome critical challenges in development of Russian Arctic. This forum is intended to improve Russian human resources so that Arctic projects could be supported by qualified personnel. This year, the Forum gathered over 150 would-be scientists, including those with master degrees, postgraduates and researchers in the morning of their career, aspiring to become professionals in Arctic studies and developments. The business cases tackled at the Forum were relevant issues of real research and engineering practice, thus being a perfect grindstone for the youth to chisel their skills.

KSRC was represented at the forum by the engineers of Civil Ship System’s Integration Division, who successfully coped with tough qualification tests.

The educational program also includes round tables and discussions with heads of the corporations working in Arctic Developments, ministers of Russian Government, professors of Russian Academy of Sciences and rectors of leading Russian universities. Thus, the panel discussion held at March 01 included the speeches of Kirill Molodtsov, Deputy Minister of Energy and Igor Barinov, Head of Federal Agency on Interethnic Relationships. Vladimir Dyukov, Deputy Director General of the KSRC, took the floor at this panel with his message On promising developments in creating icebreaker and carrier fleet for Russian Arctic. This message briefed the participants of the Forum on a whole range of promising Arctic offshore developments performed in the last years by the Arctic Engineering Centre of the KSRC.
