Yamal-LNG Project: Simulations of LNGC maneuvers in Sabetta harbor

On 23rd of May the Krylov State Research Centre was visited by the Deputy Minister of Transport v. A. Olersky leading a team of reps from a range of shipbuilding entities including Federal Agency of Marine & Inland Shipping, FSUE Rosmorport, PAO Sovcomflot, OAO Yamal LNG, Admiral Makarov State University of Maritime & Inland Shipping and other.

The purpose of the visit was to witness trial simulations performed at Krylov’s simulation & training complex for modeling maneuvers of large-size LNG carriers in Sabetta harbor and shipping channel. Participants of the meeting also discussed plans regarding further efforts for raising the safety of LNG offloading operations in Sabetta (Yamal LNG Project).

The guests were also shown around a range of Krylov’s test facilities including the newly built Landscape Wind Tunnel and Ice Basin.
